Carol Hodder’s Biography
Carol Hodder has lived amongst the rural community in Ireland since childhood. Brought up on a farm, she has lived all her life close to nature, and is a keen observer of the seen and unseen in relation to it. This has given her a sense of the very real struggle to bring to life all that dwells within the earth, and an understanding of the elements and seasons and their very real importance to the cyclical aspects of it.
The boglands and mountainous wild landscape of Kerry are places that have provided her with a memory bank of visual and physical experience for her work. It is through the medium of paint that she explores the memory of those and other places, the outer and inner ‘landscapes’ of her life.
