Debbie Emerson’s Biography
Debbie Emerson has been involved in art for the last ten years. Having completed a diploma in Fine and Decorative Arts from the Institute of Auctioneers and Valuers in Dublin, she continued her studies in London, achieving an honours degree in Interior Design. She returned to Dublin in 1994 and has been producing unique work from her Dalkey home/studio ever since.
Debbie has developed a very personal mixed media form in which she combines brightly coloured handmade paper with stained glass, metal, foil, etc. The work she produces is startlingly original and richly textured. Her early inspiration came from ethnic symbolic art – the Celts, Aztecs and African tribes. More recently she has created remarkable aquatic scenes as well as sensual, pasisonate mermaids and a series of evocative female figures based on the Nine Greek Muses.
