Gertrude Degenhardt’s Biography
Gertrude Degenhardt was born in New York in 1940 and brought up in West Berlin. Since 1966 she has worked as an independent painter and graphic artist. In 1968 she was awarded the Graphic Art Biennial prize in Cracov, Poland, and in 1976 won the same prize in Fredrikstad, Norway. She now lives and works in Mainz, Germany and on the West Coast of Ireland, exhibiting throughout the world.
