Roger Sloan’s Biography

Roger Sloan was born in Limavady, County Antrim, and now lives in Bangor, on the County Down coast. His interest in painting came to light at a very young age, and was further encouraged when he attended Methodist College where he studied art throughout his years there.

Roger has pursued his interest in painting for many years now, but it was only in 1994 that he first began to exhibit his work. Since that time Roger has enjoyed a great deal of success and his popularity has continued to grow. Whilst originally only working in watercolours, Roger has now made the transition to oils, and it is here that his vibrant style and use of colour have come to the fore. Roger likes the contrasts, which he can achieve with oils, from the tactile contours of the mountains to the ethereal mists of the valleys.

Rogers work is in collections in Ireland, England, Germany, and America. He has exhibited extensively throughout Ireland both through solo shows and in group exhibitions.
