Sarah Kileff’s Biography

Sarah Kileff lives and works in Anahilt County Down. From 1991 to 1994, she attended Belfast Art College, obtaining a 1st class B.A honours degree, then completed a P.G.C.E in Art and Design in Education. Sarah then moved to Zimbabwe in 1995, where she and her husband lived and worked on Albion Farm, south of Harare. In 2003 due to unlawful land redistribution of their farm Sarah and her family returned to County Down, settling in Anahilt.

Sarah works part-time teaching Art and Design and paints since her return. She has successfully exhibited her paintings in three solo and various group exhibitions in Belfast, Holywood, Ballynahinch, Hillsborough, Downpatrick and Lisburn.

With nature as inspiration Sarah’s paintings have a definite distinctive colour sense and a discernible artistic personality. Sarah’s inventive use of paint and mixed media, shows a process of growth from one form into the other which is observable both in the techniques and the materials employed. The horse/animal subjects possess an imaginative breadth of vision and generosity of spirit.
